Biker Or Partygirl?
What are you looking for in a women's leather jacket? The categories are really dramatically different. For me, it all depends on what I'm up to, where I'm headed and who with! I can do biker chick or elegant designer. So let's take a look at the best of each and maybe something in between. We'll see!
First up take the motorcycle look. I don't think you're going to do much better than Leatherup.com's Classic Braided Cruiser Ladies Motorcycle Leather Jacket" by Xelement. It's gorgeously "macho" looking. Now I just have to find my man and his hog. (don't tell but my actual man doesn't own one - oh well!). The collar is traditional style biker with fold over flap for wind resistance. There are zipper pockets and sleeves and an elastic back. Looks like a real ride jacket as well as a strut around feel to it. Alright, move to the high fashion side of leather jackets and I found a beaut. It's by Royal Underground (a wild and wonderful design team born out of Rock - Motley Crue actually!) It's a Leather Military Jacket Red leather. Mini-stand collar; button front. Long sleeves; button cuffs. Flap pockets. Inverted pleating on back. Lining, polyester.You will find it at Neiman Marcus, their item number NMF10_T2AGS and the price is $895. This one is really hot and you'll be in the forefront. OK move to Bloomingdale's and check out this Andrew Marc Zip Front Leather Car Coat. their catalog number 435027 The coat has a stand collar and hidden zip front closure. Side pockets have two ways in; from the top and from the zip closure. Zip reappears on the elongated cuffs. Fully lined. Details are: Leather & Shearling, genuine leather. And it's priced at $595. They have deals on your value purchased right now so you may be able to reduce this by as much as 40%. Try anyway! What else in leather? How about a pair of dressy pants for that party coming up. Everyone else will be wearing velvet or something and you'll run against the crowd and attract all kinds of attention. Now where can I find a knock-your-eyes-out pair? I'll stay with Bloomies and see if they have anything. Ah ha! Got it right away! These look really great, think I'll order a pair right now - I can use 'em in a week or so. In black, Helmut Lang Leather Skinny leggings. Bloomies says you can wear them with boyfriend blazers or slouchy tees. Contrast waistband, stitched knee seams.
